Second Wind

Second Wind is from the 1926 or 1927 Home Builder’s Catalog and is known as the Carstine or Arstine
depending on the year of the catalog and was virtually untouched renovation-wise.  

These were plan book homes where the plans and material lists could be purchased for around $20. Our
research found the original owner was a carpenter as well as a firefighter. Subsequently, we guess, all interior
walls of this balloon framed structure are continuously fire stopped at the floor lines with solid masonry. In
addition, all exterior walls and ceilings are insulated with 1-1/2″ or 2″ (depending on location) cork insulation
directly behind the 3-coat plaster. 43 total windows flood this home with light and water views. Click the
